"The most important relationship in your business is the one you have with yourself."
You didn't start a business to feel this alone in it.
Therapy for founders, entrepreneurs, creatives, and the people who build alongside them.
Building something of your own can be exhilarating. It can also be lonely, consuming, and far more personal than anyone tells you.
This is a place to talk about the part of entrepreneurship that doesn't make the pitch deck.
The business is only part of the story.
Behind every company is a person making decisions without knowing how they will turn out. Managing people while managing themselves. Taking risks, carrying financial pressure, navigating relationships, questioning themselves, succeeding, failing, and sometimes starting over.
The Founders Couch exists for that person. Ambition and wellbeing are not mutually exclusive. The work you're building and the life you're living can both matter.
Hi, I'm Laura.
I'm a licensed mental health counselor, a couples therapist, and an entrepreneur who has built and led a business. I understand entrepreneurship from both sides of the couch — clinically, and from having lived the realities of leadership, financial responsibility, uncertainty, difficult decisions, and carrying responsibility for other people.
You don't have to explain to me why your business feels personal. I already know it is.
Ways I can support you
Couples therapy
Entrepreneurship changes how couples experience time, money, risk, responsibility, intimacy, and each other. I work with couples navigating what building a business does to the relationship around it.
Individual therapy
One-on-one therapy for founders and entrepreneurs dealing with pressure, anxiety, burnout, identity, difficult decisions, and the emotional reality of building something that matters to you.
Co-founder therapy
Some business problems are actually relationship problems — trust, resentment, communication, power, money, boundaries, competing visions. I work with co-founders on what's really going on between them.
Therapy for creatives and visionaries
When your work is deeply personal, the experience of putting it into the world is also personal. I work with creative entrepreneurs who understand that the emotional stakes of their work are real.
Couples therapy
The business may be yours. The pressure belongs to both of you.
Entrepreneurship comes home. It comes home through financial uncertainty, long hours, distraction, exhaustion, uneven responsibilities, risk, resentment, and competing priorities.
Over time, two people who love each other can begin functioning more like coworkers managing a complicated life. I help couples understand their patterns, have difficult conversations, and reconnect — without pretending the realities of entrepreneurship don't exist.
Your relationship doesn't have to become the price you pay for building something you believe in. I work with couples in Seattle and across Washington State via telehealth.
